1.4.2010 LA CHAUX-DE-FONDS, Switzerland and Valasske Mezirici, Czech republic, April 1 - Today Ismeca & EFFITEST announced their exclusive partnership to provide integrated high speed final test solution for Discrete and Power devices.  The partnership pairs Unites’s mass production proven test technology with Ismeca's NX-Series Handlers in a powerful combination to offer superior Cost of Ownership with technical capability & service excellence.  The new product, under the long term exclusive collaboration, will be market under the new brand names “Effitest”.
The partnership is the result of Ismeca’s vision of improving overall Cost of Ownership to their customers by eliminating one of the critical limiting factors in its handler throughput.  35 years of research and technology and more than 4,500 installed based has proven Ismeca the leader in technology of high speed small signal device handling.  Combining with state of the art turret design and Swiss precision engineering; Ismeca’s handler offer outstanding MTBA as well as the fastest turret in the market (cycle time).  However, shortest machine cycle time and stable performance is sometimes limited by longer than desired testing time; which is the bottleneck of additional throughput potential of Ismeca’s handler.  With the partnership with EFFITEST this bottleneck will be removed permanently and makes Ismeca the leader in small signal device handling and further enhances its market leadership.
“Effitest” - supported by the UNITES´ strong engineering team with more then 15 years of experience and innovative technical know how in ATE - will be marketed under existing Ismeca’s sales channel, and to be supported by existing Ismeca’s well established service network in the most important markets of Semiconductor industry.  Ongoing and future development of new “Effitest” tester will be closely aligned with Ismeca’s product roadmap – to be driven by Ismeca key Accounts.
The Effitest e50 / e90 has the shortest test time, between 25ms to 35ms on standard bi-polar transistors.  Additionally, it is the only tester in the market with proven testing capabilities in mass production environments for several years for customers in Japan, China, and Malaysia.  Besides the standard one stop FT/AT test, the e90 also allows further reduction on test time (up to 50%) on test program which requires longer than standard test time (Power devices) in order to minimize the overall cost of ownership of handler + tester investment.  Robustness of the hardware design allows easy storage of the tester hence reduces the dependency of floor space – another area of improvement in overall efficiencies; a clear advantage for customers in need of replacing existing outdated testing equipments.
